Join NWCLTC for another year of education, camaraderie, professional development and technical assistance for community land trust organizations and affiliated partners in Walla Walla, WA!


The overall schedule will be like in recent years with a Monday afternoon CLT Intro session for new staff, board members and elected officials, followed by the Meet ‘n Greet. The Gathering begins in earnest on Tuesday with the Annual Meeting and continues with a variety of sessions until late afternoon Wednesday. By popular demand, we are bringing back Andrea Paul on Tuesday for her exceptional presentation on Human Resources.

Join us for this training opportunity open to current and prospective Common Roots Members!

Members will learn about Common Roots founding, community land trust (CLT) social movement history, and CLT technical elements, and will participate in visioning and planning related to member civic participation. The board will meet in the afternoon to review our strategic plan and business plan. More details to come!

Our very first annual membership meeting where we will welcome our new members and vote on governing documents!

Join us for the Common Roots Housing Trust Annual Membership Meeting!

We will start the meeting with a light lunch and brief orientation on community land trusts. We will walk through our governing documents as a group, and then move on to voting!

In the voting process, we will vote on governing documents, like the bylaws. We will also need to nominate and elect our Board of Directors.

Childcare and Spanish interpretation will be provided!

We will be using the 2nd floor room of Havstad Alumni Center, which is at the corner of 4th and College Ave, in College Place, WA. The second floor can be accessed by elevator, and there are two parking lots immediately adjacent to the building.

We can't wait to see you there!

An affordable housing forum to share technical knowledge on the community land trust (CLT) real estate model

Presenters:

Kim Toskey originated residential mortgage loans from 2001 to 2017, was a Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC) Premiere Partner for 10 consecutive years and a Five Star professional for the past seven years. She facilitated conversations between Fannie Mae (FNMA) and community land trusts (CLTs), that streamlined CLT mortgage approvals. She is the founder of Homes and Hope CLT (HHCLT) in Snohomish County, WA.

Nils Peterson is Executive Director at Moscow Affordable Housing Trust whose mission is to create affordable homeownership opportunities within the City of Moscow, ID. Peterson came to the position after retiring early from Washington State University. He holds a degree in Architecture, but, having graduated in Reagan's Recession, went on to do other things and is returning to architecture-related work after a 30-year hiatus.

Common Roots Housing Trust is a community-based organization that will create new homeownership opportunities for people whose needs are not met by the traditional housing market.

Julie Brenner, Nadean Pulfer, Amanda Trejo-Perez, Jennie Dickinson, Laura Prado, and Chad Hickox.
